Wieder hat Fractal Design mit dem Tower vieles richtig gemacht. Die Lautstärke ist völlig O.K. und für die meisten ausreichend. Im Büro fällt der Tower nicht auf und wenn alles korrekt per Software des Mainboard-Herstellers eingestellt ist, wird auch kein Geräusch wahrgenommen. Im hier beschriebenen Fall wurden die Lüfter alle auf etwa 400 Umdrehungen gedrosselt.

Das Meshify 2 Compact knüpft an die guten Erfahrungen mit dem großen Geschwistermodell an, bleibt dabei jedoch eben etwas kompakter. Der Innenraum ist dennoch überraschend geräumig und kann große Hardware ohne große Einschränkungen aufnehmen.

Das Fractal Meshify 2 Compact vereint alle Vorteile des Vorgänger und konnte im Test mit weiteren Optimierungen überzeugen. Diese könnte man als „Kleinigkeiten“ bezeichnen, erhöhen den Gesamteindruck des Gehäuses aber deutlich.

Das Meshify 2 Compact von Fractal Design ist ein schickes und hochwertiges Gehäuse mit kompakten Abmessungen, in das eine Menge Hardware herreinpasst, wenn man einige Kompromisse in Kauf nehmen kann. Eines der absoluten Highlights dieses Gehäuses ist sicherlich die Optik, die ein gekonntes Spiel aus Schlichtheit und Designelementen vereint. Mit dem Meshify 2 Compact rundet Fractal Design seine aktuelle Meshify-2-Serie ab - und zwar mit dem Modell, das für die meisten Nutzer am attraktivsten sein dürfte. Das ATX-Gehäuse spart Platz und Geld, kann dafür aber trotzdem viele Stärken seiner großen Geschwistermodelle bieten.

The Fractal Meshify 2 Compact is a new case that's aiming to functionally replace (or revamp and revise, at least) the Fractal Meshify C that we reviewed in around 2017. The Meshify 2 Compact borrows similar themes from the Meshify 2 non-XL and XL, but shrinks and cuts costs. This makes the Fractal Meshify 2 Compact review an amalgamation of what we've already learned from the previous two Meshify 2 cases and some new thermal tests. Competitors would include the Cooler Master TD500, Lian Li 215 and Lancool II Mesh, Phanteks P400A, Corsair 4000D, et al. These are some of the best PC cases out now.

Fractal continues to weaponize the Meshify 2 line with the newest addition of Meshify 2 Compact. Meshify 2 Compact is a well-designed case that has a lot of features to make your build stand out in the crowd. One of the most memorable features of this case is the front bezel. The embossed angular design is eye-catching, to say the least. To show off your internal components, the Meshify 2 Compact can be purchased with tinted/tempered glass. What needs recognition, is the tool-less design panels on each side of the case. No more screws are needed to remove to open up your case. Just pull on the corner of the panel and it easily slides forward exposing components or cable management.

I am very happy to see a company taking into account community feedback to improve on its product. The Meshify C was a great case, but there were a few things that could have been improved, like the nonremovable front filter, difficulty in removing the front panel, absence of USB Type C, and more. The Meshify 2 Compact does launch at a more expensive price tag compared to when the Meshify C first came out. But I think the improvements are worth the extra premium since modularity plays an important role in simplifying a build. This is a feature I hope to see in many future gaming cases.

The Fractal Design MESHIFY 2 COMPACT is an attractive, compact (as it should be) mid-tower chassis focused on airflow with its mesh design. It’s an evolution of the Meshify C done the right way. The side panels have a better mounting system, and you get three instead of two fans. Overall, the compatibility is broader this time, with more space for the components. The maximum motherboard form factor that you can use is standard ATX, and you can install 360 + 240 +120 mm water cooling radiators and a 169 mm air cooler. Moving on to storage, the case fits up to eight drives (four 2.5” + four 2.5 or 3.5” bays, but only two mounting brackets are provided per each option). The installation went pretty well: the cable management system is good, but the PSU space (without removing the HDD cage) was tight for what we use in our test system (a Seasonic Prime Titanium Ultra 850W).

enthusiasts likely to entertain an E-ATX board with lots of storage and cooling should continue to gravitate toward the regular Meshify 2. For everyone else, Meshify 2 Compact is a neater, more affordable alternative.
