Mit dem be quiet! Dark Base Pro 901 testen wir den Nachfolger des sieben Jahre alten Dark Base Pro Pro 900. Dieses besaß zur damaligen Zeit sehr viele Features, zum Beispiel die Möglichkeit externe Geräte kabellos laden zu können. Diese und viele weitere Funktionen sind auch beim neuen 901 beibehalten worden. Das neue 901 wurde aber nicht nur optisch und technisch auf den neuen Stand gebracht, sondern es wurden so gut wie alle verfügbaren Features verbaut, die be quiet! im Angebot hat. Dazu gehören eine Dämmung, leise Lüfter und eine Lüftersteuerung, um dem Namen des Herstellers alle Ehre zu machen.

Gleich zu Beginn sollte man einmal festhalten, dass be quiet! hier ein Produkt geschaffen hat, welches extrem umfangreich, teils auch komplex, aber nicht kompliziert in der Handhabung ist, sehr viel Möglichkeiten bietet, aber auch sehr performant in der Kühlung zu Werke geht. Der besagte Funktionsumfang ermöglicht es, gewissermaßen für fast jeden Anwender das perfekte Maß für sich selbst zu finden. Nach dem stark verbesserten Dark Base Pro 900 Rev. 2 (zum Test), hat man jetzt nach drei weiteren Jahren ein Gehäuse vorgestellt, welches in der Oberliga mitspielen will.

be quiet! hat mit dem Dark Base Pro 901 ein Gehäuse mit hohem Funktionsumfang und flexiblem Aufbau im Portfolio. Wir durften das neue Topgehäuse mit drei Silent Wings 4-Lüftern und integrierter Lüfter- und ARGB-Steuerung testen.

Das Dark Base Pro 901 von be quiet! ist ein wahrhaftiges Monster – und das in mehrfacher Hinsicht.

Kompromisslos, damit lässt sich das be quiet Dark Base Pro 901 wohl am besten beschreiben. Vor allem die Möglichkeit, das Case wahlweise zum Silent- oder Airflowgehäuse umzubauen, erweist sich als wichtigste Ergänzung.

Mit dem Dark Base Pro 901 löst BeQuiet! das bisherige Flaggschiff Dark Base Pro 900 ab. Um die erfolgreiche und sehr flexible DNA der Dark Base Serie nicht komplett zu verändern, wurden neben der moderneren Optik hauptsächlich Veränderungen im Detail vorgenommen. Ob das Edel-Case überzeugen kann, lest ihr im Test.

Das be quiet! Dark Base Pro 901 ist derzeit ab 289 € im Preisvergleich gelistet. Auch wenn der Preis auf den ersten Blick etwas hoch erscheint, so bietet das Gehäuse sehr viel. Wir bekommen ein Gehäuse welches hochwertig verarbeitet ist und sich an die eigenen Bedürfnisse anpassen lässt. Egal ob ihr mit Luft oder Wasser kühlen möchtet, mit diesem Gehäuse kommt eigentlich jeder auf seine Kosten.

Es ist Zeit für ein neues be quiet!-Flaggschiff: Das Dark Base Pro 901 soll in die Fußstapfen seines Vorgängers treten und als extrem flexibles Gehäuse überzeugen. Dazu gibt es ein frisches Design und neue Features wie eine touch-sensitive A-RGB-LED- und Lüftersteuerung, ein intuitives Schienensystem für die einfachere Layoutinvertierung und natürlich auch Silent Wings 4-Lüfter.

Three things i can always be certain whenever be quiet! releases a new Dark Base Pro PC case, build quality, spacious interior and simple yet elegant design. This case is pretty much build like a tank, has plenty of interior space for even the largest hardware components (XL-ATX motherboards, 190mm tall CPU air coolers, 288mm long power supplies and 495mm long graphics cards) and even though it will not cause your jaw to drop at first sight it’s still a very elegant model which can fit everywhere, both at home and the office. Unfortunately for people looking to get the most silent full tower around the Dark Base Pro 901 is probably not it, largely because of its tempered glass panel. It would had been nice had be quiet! released the same model but with a steel side panel instead (aimed towards people who’d like something even more silent) but at least for now that’s hasn’t happened. As for pricing, at the time of this review the black Dark Base Pro 901 full tower by be quiet! retails for USD227.83 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 306.81Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) a price tag which although very balanced on the other side of the Atlantic it’s once again a bit high over here (also the white variant was just released so due to very low availability pricing is not accurate). That aside however the Dark Base Pro 901 is a clear step upwards from its predecessor and since it delivers as advertised and then some it clearly deserves the Platinum Award.

We will be taking a look at Be Quiet!’s latest full sized case, the Dark Base Pro 901. Similar to much of Be Quiet!'s other products, the Dark Base Pro 901 is aimed at those looking for silence while managing thermal performance.

With the Dark Base Pro 901, BeQuiet! replaces the previous flagship Dark Base Pro 900. In order to not completely change the successful and very flexible DNA of the Dark Base series, mainly changes in detail were made besides the more modern look. Read our review to find out whether the noble case is convincing.

This clearly isn’t a case for everyone, as it’s both quite large and quite expensive too. But ironically, it is a case for everyone in that it’s so modular and flexible, it’ll be suitable for virtually any kind of PC build; obviously excluding compact and affordable builds. Having a case that can be tuned for silence is important if you’re in a noise-critical role, such as a recording studio. However, you may still need room for a potent system, with lots of storage. Or you want a rendering workstation that can handle a dual-socket motherboard and four workstation GPUs with a bank of 20TB HDDs in the front… or an RGB-lit inverted and liquid-cooled gaming rig with high airflow. It’s bonkers to think that this case can be all of these things with surprisingly little effort to change the configuration. What I do like is if I needed ALL of those kinds of PC. Such as here in the office, we could have four of these cases, all doing different things and in unique configurations, but they’ll still all match aesthetically on the outside, which is pretty awesome. The build quality and engineering on show here are really impressive, and while multiple fan hubs and clever connectors aren’t needed, they are cool, but the little details like that stack up far and certainly add to the price. This is a case that’s frankly built with more features than it needs to be, but at the same time, it’s awesome that they’ve done it anyway, just to see if they can create the ultimate case that can meet the demands of more than just one kind of PC enthusiast. It’s unlikely you’ll change the configuration more than once, but it’s nice to know that you can. It’s expensive, but it’s also extremely impressive and by far one of the most capable and versatile PC cases I’ve ever seen.

be quiet's DARK BASE PRO 901 is an incredibly well designed PC enclosure, so much so that this review has been a challenge for us. The 901 has a wealth of customisability options, and so many features that is was hard to know where to begin when we took the case out of its box. Even now, it is hard to know what to discuss first, or even how to compare this case to other PC cases.
