Overall, I am still a big fan of the Core P lineup, and the new changes for the Core P3 TG Pro are welcomed. Some of the downsides to the case design will just always be a thing, fixing some of the issues would mean taking away the cool exposed design. But there is still room for improvement. Overall this isn’t the type of case you are getting unless you want something unique but also aren’t looking to break the bank. At $159.99 the Core P3 TG Pro isn’t cheap but it is in line with a lot of the other ATX cases but the design is a complete departure and unique compared to the standard O11 knockoff and offers complete customization. You can even hang it on the wall.

When I reviewed the Thermaltake Core P6 TG I was extremely impressed with the overall design and modding options. However the primary difference was that the Core P6 was designed to be a full sided chassis, it came with all four sides, the hollow motherboard tray and back panel and was finished off with a thick sheet of tempered glass. In terms of size, the Core P6 and Core P3 are virtually identical with the down-market version coming with fewer components and fewer motherboard support options.

There are a few things that the Core P3 TG Pro could improve upon. One cosmetic element is the plastic base, which, while perfectly functional and sturdy, doesn't look or feel that great. On top of that, as this is an open air case, Thermaltake could implement a few more tweaks to hide routed cables, helping make the final build look just a tad cleaner overall.

I think it’s only fair to say one thing right out of the gate… I personally would not buy this case, it is just so at odds with everything I do when I build one of my own PCs that I just couldn’t live with it. I tuck my PC under my desk and typically like a build that’s rarely seen or heard. I also live in an area that for whatever reason suffers from a lot of dust. I also like a fairly silent and compact build too. So you can see how I want almost the complete opposite of the Thermaltake Core P3 TG Pro for my own PC.
