Der Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut beweist sich als die bisher beste Version von Ghost of Tsushima und liefert mit Iki Island einige Stunden an interessanten neuen Inhalten ab, auch wenn sich die Anreize für alle, die das Spiel bereits beendet haben, in Grenzen halten.

Ghost of Tsushima verliert sich zwar oftmals zu sehr in optischen Details, bietet aber dennoch genügend an Gameplay-Vielfalt und Umfang, um auch klassische Open World – RPG Fans in seinen Bann ziehen zu können. Für Fans der Welt aus Samurais und Katanas bleibt der Titel sowieso in allen Bereichen ein absoluter Pflichtkauf!

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is now the definitive version of an already great game; and although the DLC does feel like too much of a companion piece at times, it doesn’t feel tacked-on in the slightest. If you’re keen on experiencing the game from the ground up, this is the way to do it going forward.

Ghost of Tsushima is an excellent open-world adventure from Sucker Punch Productions which adds some innovative ideas to a fairly stagnant genre. The game's depiction of the time period is generic and inoffensive, but that doesn't prevent it from being a stunning visual showcase and a worthwhile swan song for the PS4

Ghost of Tsushima is an excellent action game and its open world is one of the most gorgeous yet.

Ghost of Tsushima is at its best when you're riding your horse and taking in the beautiful world on your own terms, armed with a sword and a screenshot button, allowing the environmental cues and your own curiosity to guide you. It's not quite a Criterion classic, but a lot of the time it sure looks like one.

With Ghost of Tsushima under its belt, Sucker Punch deserves to be in the same conversation as Insomniac, Naughty Dog, and Sony Santa Monica. If this generation is to wrap up soon, it's fitting that it'll end with Tsushima: one of its most beautiful games thus far.

Sucker Punch borrows from other open world games, but ultimately charts an original and creative course to craft a samurai epic of tremendous breadth and beauty.

However, Jin is a serviceable main character and he and his journey to save Tsushima is often overshadowed by secondary characters and smaller, more personal stories found in the side quests. Throw in some formulaic missions and an awkward user interface, and Ghost of Tsushima is at times more style than substance.

Even if it ultimately suffers from repetition by the game’s end, and despite a lack of variety in its quest, the magic of that initial exploration and the beauty of its world will stick with me for a very long time.
