DarkSiders III - Keepers of the Void (Download) (Add-on) (PC)

Großartige Fortsetzung, die viel Wert auf flüssige, aber anspruchsvolle Kämpfe legt. Aber auch bei Puzzles und als Platformer motivierend.

All in all, would I recommend Keepers of the Void? If you enjoyed Darksiders III, I would, and if you do not own the game yet but expect you will enjoy it, then again I would recommend this DLC for it.

The GTX 770, despite being the oldest and least powerful of the cards I have to test with, was still able to provide a 60 FPS experience in Darksiders III. While my AMD GPUs did perform worse, they still offered good experiences at High and Epic qualities. Starting from the GTX 980 and up, all of the NVIDIA GPUs I have could provide a strong 60 FPS experience, with every graphics setting turned to Epic.

The gameplay is somewhat mixed with good points and sharp points to frustrate you. You can get through it though and things may improve with patches as well, but expect an at times very challenging experience.

Still, I'm glad Darksiders is back, and although I was worried for a while that Gunfire Games had fudged it, Darksiders III turned out to be satisfying (if overpriced) virtual junk food. If Darksiders is ever going to be more than that, however, then it needs to do more than ape other games, especially masterpieces like Dark Souls that it has no hope of rivalling.

Those who loved the first two may love or hate what it has become, but I feel like it was a gamble Gunfire needed to take. I saw a few reviewers complaining about the graphics not improving, but frankly, that's irrelevant—I didn't have time to focus on the polygon count because my knuckles were white, strained from the constant and incredibly tense combat.

Darksiders' schlocky action makes a welcome return, though it's not enough to shake the feeling you've played this before - and better.

Darksiders 3 is a nostalgic trip, reminding me of games I loved when I was younger. It never does anything spectacular, nor does it offer many new ideas. Instead, it exists as an earnest reminder of how games played eight years ago, and that's enough for me.
