Die meisten Gaming-Tastaturen fallen sehr wuchtig aus und benötigen viel Platz. Ganz anders die neue K65 RGB Mini von Corsair. Diese mechanische Tastatur verspricht zwar eine beachtliche Ausstattung, wirkt dank des 60-Prozent-Formats aber regelrecht winzig.

Corsair getting into the 60% keyboard market with the K65 RGB MINI 60% is exciting because Corsair seems to bridge the gap between gaming and mainstream and I’m excited for smaller keyboards to not be some crazy niche product that people think is weird for you to have. To me at least, I feel like there are a lot of people who just don’t have any need for a full-sized keyboard. I feel the same way when it comes to ITX builds, most people don’t have any need for more than one PCIe slot. But with keyboards so many people never use their number pad and if you aren’t using it it’s surprisingly nice to have the extra desk space and being able to move your keyboard over closer to your mouse can be more comfortable as well.

The Corsair K65 RGB Mini is a well-built, great looking compact keyboard that offers a high level of customization capability. Corsair has done an excellent job with their first compact keyboard offering and we can’t recommend it enough.

The Corsair K65 RGB Mini is a well-performing highly customizable keyboard that should help raise awareness for the 60% form factor despite a few (mostly cosmetic) flaws.

If you seek the very smallest keyboard footprint and are willing to tolerate the things you're losing to obtain it, the Corsair K65 RGB Mini is everything you would hope a Corsair product to be. Robust, high quality, gorgeous to type on, excellent lighting and NKEY rollover sit alongside the 4000Hz polling - up to 8000Hz with iCUE software - make the K65 RGB Mini an easy winner of our OC3D Gamers Choice award.

The mechanical keyboards market is already crowded, and Corsair clearly wanted to show something that stands out. They succeeded, as the K65 RGB Mini is a highly appealing product. It’s a 60% form-factor keyboard with pleasant Cherry MX Red keys witches, PBT keycaps, 8.000 Hz polling rate, full NKRO, and 100% anti-ghosting. It’s a great choice for gamers looking for something a little bit different. This alone makes it deserve the “Recommended” award. The quality is good, the keyboard is rigid (and very stable, thanks to the rubbery feet), iCUE works well (there’s been a redesign since our last review), and allows synchronization with other Corsair stuff as well as per-key lighting adjustment. MX Red switches work well, but that’s not surprising at all, and they’re also a safe choice (there are also Speed and Silent available). Finally, one other thing that I personally had a hard time getting used to for a bit longer is hitting the Fn key a lot to be able to access the F-keys and media keys (I actually didn’t use the latter at all because of that). Well, obviously, there are fewer keys here, and this problem had to be solved somehow, so I’m not blaming the keyboard itself. This might be a non-issue for some (maybe many?), but I happen to be quite used to having dedicated keys for that, so you need to decide for yourself if this will be a problem for you before you take the plunge and buy this keyboard. For me, it's quite a niche product, but I really appreciate this entry from Corsair.

If you want something portable, compact, and stylish, 60% is certainly the way to go. While it’s hardly a new concept, Corsair has equipped the K65 RGB Mini to be the best compact gaming keyboard on the market today, and it’ll take some serious innovation before we see anything that can beat it. It’s one of the coolest and most fun gaming keyboards I’ve ever tested.
