Für 250 Euro Aufpreis gibt es mehr Zoom und mehr Speed beim endlich vorhandenen USB-C-Anschluss. Ein Always-on-Display und weitere Annehmlichkeiten packt Apple dann ebenfalls mit dazu. Aber versprochen: Auch mit dem iPhone 15 werdet ihr glücklich!

Das iPhone 15 ist wieder ein sehr hochwertiges, nicht zu großes Smartphone. In vielen Bereichen ist es technisch Spitze, in manchen ist die Konkurrenz aber schon deutlich weiter.

New iPhones tend to be rather boring. Not the pricey Pro models that get most of the fancy new features — I’m talking about the regular versions that are ideal for most of us. Apple has historically taken a trickle-down approach to its mainline phone, adding components and features from the previous year’s Pros as part of the annual update. That’s primarily what we’re dealing with on the iPhone 15, which starts at $799. However, the combination of those hand-me-downs, a revamped camera and the switch to USB-C make this year’s regular iPhone a worthy upgrade.

There are upgrades across the board for the iPhone 15 – even if we’ve seen them on other iPhone models before. The camera benefits from a higher-resolution main sensor, the Dynamic Island is an obvious improvement over the notch and there’s even been a slight price cut in the UK. This remains the default iPhone for most people, and it remains a very good phone.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus bring most of the features from the 14 Pro to a more affordable price point, and finally ditch Lightning for a USB Type-C connector.

Apple's new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are probably the best new iPhones for most people. The only significant flaw is the display, which should've been upgraded to a 120Hz refresh rate. But the improved cameras, nice design and choice of colors, and the introduction of the Dynamic Island, will make you wonder whether you really need to dish out the extra cash for the Pro models.

With the Dynamic Island and USB-C, the iPhone 15 gains "pro" features and easier charging. But the changes are most noticeable coming from an aging iPhone.

The Apple iPhone 15 doesn't have all the bells and whistles its Pro sibling does, but don't overlook it. It's the model that sees the greatest enhancements, all of which contribute to a superb overall experience. The design is great, performance is excellent, Dynamic Island brings a big interface change and that's before you consider the excellent camera upgrades. The Apple iPhone 15 delivers in abundance and at a great price too.

The iPhone 15 is a great flagship value with its new 48MP camera with 2x zoom, refined contoured design and brighter display. The A16 Bionic chip is a year old but still quite fast, and you get strong battery life. It’s also nice to see a USB-C port, though there’s no change to charging speed. The only real strike against the iPhone 15 is its 60Hz refresh rate.

It's OK not to love your phone.

Apple’s standard iPhone gets a lot of nice upgrades this year, but it’s not anything we haven’t seen before.
