In November, we reviewed XPG’s Invader and while it was a very good case, there were some areas that seemed a little rough. This is not the case with the Battlecruiser: it is an all-around great case. The build quality is as high as any we have reviewed. It was clearly engineered with plenty of forethought. The tempered glass side panels along with the impressive lighting make this case as beautiful as it is functional. The ability to install a large amount of storage, custom water cooling, and its highly impressive thermal efficiency makes this case an enthusiasts dream chassis.
The Battlecruiser is a beautiful case with its four tempered glass panels. It also has plenty of cable tie down points behind the motherboard tray, which really helps with cleaning up the dreaded cables from RGB accessories. The four fans along with the built-in lighting controller really bumps up the aesthetics of the case as well. However, there are some areas for improvement. Air flow is not the best, but that is to be expected for a tempered glass case with four glass panels. The expansion slot brackets are difficult to reinstall with a motherboard installed, and the cable cutout holes on the power supply chamber are disappointingly small. I also wish the top dust filter was made from a harder plastic material instead of a flexible material.
The XPG Battlecruiser has a lot going for it with its solid build quality, plenty of glass panels, and nicely executed design with a thoughtful approach to engineering it all. With the four panels made out of glass, this case already manages to set itself apart from the bulk of cases in this price range, while still managing to find a good compromise between airflow and noise. With the four pre-installed fans and removable dust filters, the XPG Battlecruiser does check off all the right boxes considering it comes with a noticeable $180 pre-tax price tag.
